The TY students headed off to Carlingford in Co. Louth for a few days this week. Here they will get to try their hand at lots of different outdoor activities. It should be a great experience for the girls and lots of fun. Thanks to Ms. Carty, Ms. Kelly, Ms. Wadden and Ms. Doyle for accompanying the girls.
GREEN DAY FUNDRAISER
Congratulations to the ‘School Council’ for organising their ‘Green Day Fundraiser’. The total collected so far is €548.25. The Student Council are carrying out their fundraising activities to raise the money to buy team kits for the DCW GAA team. The girls are working hard to reach their target and are nearly there- well done to the Student Council members for their hard work.
COUNTY ENTERPRISE AWARD
Huge congratulations to Emily Bateman, Kate Keaney and Maya Flynn with their product 'Brittas Bath Teas' who won an award for best display stand at the annual Student Enterprise awards in Clermont Campus on March 20th. Well done also to Cloud K9 and Cozy Carriers who also took part in the competition. The Student Enterprise Programme is Ireland’s biggest student enterprise competition. Each year over 22,000 secondary students from 620 schools take part in the Programme by setting up and running their own student business. Students get to find out what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur and get a practical, hands-on taste of real life business. Students get to do everything a real life entrepreneur does when setting up a business - from coming up with the idea and business name to making and supplying a product or service and dealing with customers. Students get to attend workshops, receive in-school talks from business mentors. Overall, it is a great learning experience for the students involved. Well done again to all the students.
Well done to the TY students and Ms. Walshe for organising a very successful ‘Daffodil Day’ coffee morning and cake sale last Friday. €870 was raised which will go towards the ‘Irish Cancer Society’. Thanks to all who came and contributed to this very worthwhile cause.
SENIOR ‘TRATH NA GCEIST’
The Senior students enjoyed their ‘Tráth na gCeist’ last Friday afternoon for ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’. Well done to all students for doing so well especially to the winning team.
