School Musical
Transition Year Annual Musical
Here at Dominican College Wicklow we have a long tradition of producing and performing an extensive selection of musicals. Always a social event for the school, our friends and families, students are given the opportunity to perform in both matinees for the local primary schools as well as evening performances for the wider community. Recent productions include Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Grease, High School Musical, Hairspray, Wizard of Oz, Oliver! and Ella Enchanted.
Fully supported by a number of teachers and professionals, the majority of the work is undertaken by our enthusiastic and highly talented group of Transition Year students. All are encouraged to offer their own unique and valuable contribution depending on their areas of interest.
Just some of the possible areas include:
Stage Work (acting, singing and dancing)
Back Stage (set design, props and costumes)
Front of House (ticket sales, marketing, refreshments and ushering)
Students from other years are also very welcome to partake in the musical as Pit Singers. These are a choir of singers that support the wonderful singing taking place on stage.
