6th Year Wellness Day
In DCW the wellbeing of our students is a priority, last Monday the 6 th years had an opportunity to disconnect from the stresses and strains of normal school life and engage in a variety of wellbeing activities. Activities included a talk from Shane Martin (Mood Watchers), yoga, dance, aromatherapy, nutrition, mindfulness and relaxation. A massive thank you to Shane Martin, Tara Crawford, Shauna O’Sullivan, Claire Ryan, Spotlight Studios, Ms. Woods and Ms. Gaffney for making
the day such a success.

Model United Nations
Last year a group of second year students took part in the online Model United Nations event organised by Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School. Following on from this, the now 3rd year students will be heading to Wesley College in March 2023 to take part in an in-person event. The students, Emily Bunce, Jill Connolly, Rionach Fleming, Amy Lalor, Harriet Lerner, Jessica Quinn and Aine Vize have selected Iceland as their country and are now preparing and researching the policies
and all things Icelandic.

Sugar Craft Workshop
A big thank you to Ms. Whelan who organised yet another sugar craft workshop for 1 st year students. This week the theme was of course Christmas and the students learned how to make decorative
pieces such as snowmen, penguins and Christmas trees from sugar paste. We hope lots of you get to enjoy the student’s skills this Christmas.

LCVP Cinema Day
Well done to the 5 th year LCVP class who organised a cinema day for the entire school body. The students ran two viewing sessions in the day and I think all will agree it was a very enjoyable event. The students raised euro and this money is being donated to the Focus Ireland, a very worthy charity. Well done everyone!

TY Enterprise Fair
The Transition years have been working hard since September on their enterprise projects and on Wednesday they had the opportunity to showcase their hard work to the rest of the school. The TYs set up in the Fatima Hall in the morning and the rest of the school were invited to attend the fair where they had the opportunity to purchase the fantastic array of products on offer. We would like to thank Ms. Scahill and Mr. Fromholz for their work with the students but special congratulations
goes to the students themselves.

Carol Concert
This Thursday saw the return of the hugely anticipated and much enjoyed DCW Carol Concert. For the first time in 3 years we were able to hold an in-person event. A carol concert for students was held during the day and an evening event for parents, both in the Convent Chapel. The service was live streamed also for those who could not attend. We are very lucky in DCW to have such amazingly talented students. Both school orchestra and school choir performed beautifully and created such a
memorable festive atmosphere. We are very proud of our students and this event really embodied the ethos of our school. Thank you to all who participated on the day, the readers, the orchestra, the choir and especially the soloists. A particular mention must be given to Emma Maguire for her work with the orchestra and to Ms. Gaffney for her hard work and dedication with the choir. Well done all!

6th Year Study Skills
On Friday the 6 th years were taken out of their normal daily routine to engage with a study skills seminar. The students worked through practical exercises and gained further insight into techniques such as goal setting and memory recall. The students found this workshop hugely beneficial and it equipped them will lots of skills and strategies to help them move forward with their study.

TY Christmas Outing
On Friday the TY students were taken out for a well-deserved Christmas treat. They have been working very hard recently on projects such as the musical ‘Ella Enchanted’ and the Enterprise Fair so this trip couldn’t have come at a better time. They went to Blanchardstown where they began with some ice skating followed by some retail therapy. Thank you to Ms. Kelly for organising and Mr. Shine, Mr. O’Reilly and Aoife for accompanying them.
