U16 Basketball
 Champions. Well done to the DCW U16 basketball team with a well fought overtime victory in the Southeast plate Championship final against St. Mary's of New Ross. Dominican college 26 to St. Mary's 24. DCW was led in scoring by Alice Hamard (13pts), Isabelle Gray(8pts) and Muireann Ring (4pts). Thank you to the whole team and the supporters for their part in this victory.

1st Year Soccer
The minor soccer team had an excellent win against a strong educate together side. A first half hat trick by Sophie Doherty followed by a double from Rosie Kelly and goals from Lara Gomez and Amy Mullen led to a great win from a terrific team performance

1st Year Cross Country
First-year students took part in the East Leinster Cross Country competition today at the Phoenix Park. It was a great opportunity for them to display their athleticism and team spirit. Well done to all participants for their hard work and dedication on the cross-country course, representing our school admirably.

2nd Year Hockey
Well done to the 2nd Year Hockey team for their 3-1 victory of St. Columba's College in Dublin. Goals from Roisin Leonard (2) and Iona Scott (1). 

Senior Rugby
DCW played a tight game against Loreto Mullingar. Tough outing in the Leinster senior rugby the girls put up a brave performance but came up against one of the favourites in the competiton.

Soft Opening of the New Book Nook
Construction is completed on the new Book Nook- a quiet area to chill out and read. Official opening coming soon. Thanks to John, our wonderful caretaker for all his hard work.

3rd English Trip
The 3rd Year English class attended a performance of "The Merchant of Venice" on Friday the 26th. This outing allowed students to experience the play in a live setting, enhancing their understanding of the literary work beyond the classroom.

2024 Mocks
Best of luck to our 3rd and 6th years as they prepare for the 2024 LC and JC Mocks. The mock begin for the Leaving Cert students on Monday and the JC students start Wednesday.

Incoming 1st Years Cat 4
DCW hosted CAT 4 tests for incoming first-year students this weekend. It was great to have the future students with us on Friday and Saturday. They explored the school and got a sense of what life will be like next year.

TTY Work Experience
Transition Year (TY) students were out of school this week on work experience. This hands-on learning experience provided them with insights into various professions, helping them explore potential career paths and develop essential skills for the future. Through these placements, students gained practical knowledge, broadening their understanding of the working world and preparing them for the challenges ahead.
