Student Mentoring
Peer Mentors are 5th Year students who volunteer to undergo training in leadership, relationship-building and communication in order to work solely with incoming 1st Year students to help them adapt to their new school surroundings. Each 5th year Mentor has regular contact with 6 or 7 first year students and helps them through any little difficulties they might be experiencing through 1st and 2nd year.
Peer Mentors meet the 1st Year students every week and are a helping hand in enabling them to meet new people, solve problems and adapt to the dynamic and busy world of secondary school. These students also organise a number of activities and events that are designed to make your daughter’s time a happy one here in Dominican College Wicklow.
